Character: Minotaur Warrior

Minotaur OC in a warrior's outfit.

I started remodeling an old tauren model, aiming to apply what I've learned from my experiences making the last few projects. In particular, I wanted to pay more attention to tricky rigging and shapekeys.

I completed the remodel in just under a week, taking some time to also add some adult-themed features that can't make it onto this page, or that I published separately (check out the Wrestling Bully model)

I started by remodeling this base mesh for a Tauren I made back in October 2022. I wanted to add more detail, so using a knife and a lot of patience, I carved the low-poly body into a more mid-poly one. My focus was a clean muscular mesh for easy rigging.

I knew I wanted to add shapekeys to change the body's size/shape. I imagine a character creator with sliders for that sort of customizability.

I also combined shapekeys with facial rigging to have a few expressions - though the shapekeys are for Blender renders only, not sketchfab.

Likewise, playing with the remodeled body, reworked rig, and new shapeshifting shapekeys, let me make some pretty cute variants.

Some procedural laurels I made for the Blender render, though I ended up scrapping them for the Sketchfab exports.

A beta animation had him holding the axe two-handed. I opted for a different, simpler pose in the end though.
