Contraption: Ramiel

It’s Ramiel from Neon Genesis Evangelion for this week’s Sketchfab Weekly Challenge (theme: “3D”)

Made in Blender

Ramiel animation loop

To try and make the animation easier, I ended up rigging each geometric part, top and bottom, to a respective bone

This was a good opportunity to practice bone constraints, making sure the top and bottom halves were mirroring animations in the right directions

it was also a lot of fun to rig an attack animation. I used Guardians' beams from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as a reference, as an attack from the original source material would be too devastating for blender to handle
